Valcaryn is the largest, wealthiest, and most densely populated city in Elàsia. It is said that if something exists, it has passed through Valcaryn at least once. The city never truly finishes building; streets expand, markets shift, and entire districts change function within a generation. The harbor stretches for miles along the coast, receiving ships from every dukdir, royal fleets, privateers, free plunderers, and foreign waters beyond Elàsia. Flags mean little here. Cargo matters more than allegiance.Stone warehouses, counting houses, docks, and merchant halls rise layer upon layer toward the inner city. Wealth is worn openly: silk, gold, foreign metals, and gemstones are common sights. Power in Valcaryn is measured not in titles, but in debt.
Lorebook triggers valcaryn, the thousand coins, great market, market district, city within city, market, black market
Valcaryn’s market is not a single square, but an entire district known as The Thousand Coins. It is a city within the city.Narrow stone streets, vaulted corridors, inner courtyards, and stacked terraces form a continuous flow of trade. Stalls press against permanent shops; temporary tents appear and vanish overnight. Everything is for sale—openly or otherwise.By day, spices, silk, weapons, ship parts, maps, animals, Micro Wyverns, relics, and contracted labor are traded without secrecy. By night, the market does not close; it changes. Forbidden books, ritual objects, false titles, blood contracts, and people who have already “disappeared” move through quieter hands.Slavery exists here under many names. Captives from distant coasts, disgraced nobles, debtors, and members of persecuted orders—most notably The White—are traded openly despite official disapproval. No one claims responsibility. Everyone profits.

Lorebook triggers white reach, frozen land, snow, the White, Skeldra mountains, border of skeldra
The White Reach is a stark, wind-scoured land pressed against the inland edge of Skeldra. Snow covers the ground for most of the year, broken only by black stone, frozen earth, and low, clustered settlements. The landscape feels wide and exposed, with steep mountains rising abruptly behind narrow stretches of livable ground. The White live in small, simple houses built of stone and turf, their roofs low and heavy to withstand wind and snow. Smoke rises thin and constant from narrow chimneys. The settlements are sparse, practical, and quiet—arranged for survival rather than comfort. There are no walls, no banners, and no markers of ownership. The land offers little. No forests, no fields. Livestock is scarce, limited to hardy animals. Food comes from hunting, ice fishing, and what little can be gathered or traded. Winter dominates life here; summer is brief and unreliable.Despite its isolation, the White Reach does not feel abandoned. Paths are worn into the snow by repeated use. Houses are kept in careful repair. Life continues through discipline rather than hope.

Kahir

Brahkanaten

Moriani

Kahir is the most widely worshipped deity. Genderless and eternal, creator of all things, embodiment of the sea as a whole, and ultimate authority. Prayers for order, life, and endurance are offered in Kahir’s name.

Brahkanaten is the god of storms, action, and violence. Sailors and pirates pray to him before every voyage. It is said that to anger Brahkanaten is to invite storms, shipwreck, and bloodied seas. Nearly every harbor in Elàsia holds a shrine dedicated to him, where offerings are made before setting sail.

Moriani is the Mother of Tides, goddess of waiting, birth, and return. Women and children most often pray to her. Childbirth, mourning the drowned, and long periods of uncertainty are all placed under Moriani’s care.Legends claim Moriani rides an Ice Wyvern, a creature believed long extinct. This bond is why Moriani is deeply linked to the Whites.

Kingdom of
Elásia
Magic is believed to have died two hundred years ago. Some say it vanished with the Ice Wyverns; others claim the Wyverns never existed at all. The White maintain that the Wyverns merely sleep, and that magic will return when they rise again.Though true magic is considered lost, divination endures. Seers, tarot readers, and omen-casters remain common, and seers’ tents can be found in most dukdirs, tolerated as tradition rather than power.

They hold that magic did not die, but sleeps, bound to the Ice Wyverns, awaiting its return.

Tarot readings are used in daily life, decision-making, and ritual occasions, and are broadly accepted across all dukdirs.
Seers
Lorebook triggers seer, witch, prophecy, vision, foretell
Seers are largely regarded as unstable or eccentric, and their practices are officially dismissed as superstition rather than magic. Despite this, what seers predict has an unsettling tendency to come true. Their words are tolerated, rarely trusted, and almost never ignored.
The White
Lorebook triggers the whites, white robes, white hair, blue eyes, pale, silver tattoos, ice wyvern, magic believers, blood rituals, frozen magic, slaves, markets, valcaryn, captured, persecuted, crazy, heretics, chosen ones, exiled, ascetic
The White are an isolated, persecuted order who live beyond the coastal dukdir Skeldra in The White Reach, the frozen inland facing away from the sea. They wear white robes regardless of gender, live ascetic lives, and speak openly of ancient magic as something that still exists. To the wider world, they are dismissed as mad, heretical, or dangerous. The White believe that magic did not die but froze alongside the Ice Wyverns. They claim the Wyverns are not extinct, only dormant, and that magic will return when the ice moves again. They see themselves as the chosen keepers of this truth, waiting rather than ruling.Physically, The White are known for pale skin, white or very light hair, ice-blue eyes, and severe dress. Many believe them to be descendants of Ice Wyverns and humans, though this is never proven. All members of The White bear silver tattoos. Newborns receive a single mark at birth, and an additional tattoo is etched into the skin for each year they remain within the order. The number of markings thus reflects both age and time bound to The White. To remove, alter, or obscure these tattoos is considered a violation of belief and identity.Life in the White Reach is brutal. There is no true agriculture. They survive on hunting mountain game, ice birds, seals, and fishing through ice. Hunger is constant. Trade is forbidden openly, but at dusk they leave offerings at hidden coastal points, quietly exchanging herbs, salts, bones, skins, and crude medical compounds for grain, tools, cloth, or medicine. They perform blood-based rituals in ice, snow, or frozen water, usually using their own blood. These rituals are never fully witnessed by outsiders. The White sometimes take in exiled children, unwanted heirs, abandoned newborns, and people deemed unfit for dukdir society. Those taken rarely return. When The White leave their mountains, they are mocked, beaten, or captured. They are frequently sold as slaves, especially in major markets, most notably in Valcaryn, where White captives are traded openly despite official disapproval. Some are forced into labor, others vanish into private ownership.Ocean Priests publicly deny the White’s power and label them heretical. The Crown claims they are harmless zealots. The White’s symbol is the Ice Wyvern, representing frozen magic, sacrifice, and the cost paid to keep the world moving.
